Jiuzhaigou Valley Ticket Booking System · Answers to common questions on tickets, entry, refunds and transport
How do I buy a ticket? Tickets
Choose a date, entry time slot and ticket type on the home page or the booking page, enter the visitor's ID details and pay. A verification code is issued after payment; present the original ID at the gate.
Is real-name booking required? Tickets
Yes. Booking is real-name — enter the ID details of the person visiting, and present the original document at the gate.
Are admission and the shuttle priced separately? Tickets
Yes. Admission and the in-park shuttle are priced separately at Jiuzhaigou. The valleys are long and the boardwalks run for tens of kilometres, so almost every visit needs the shuttle. All ticket products on this site are admission + shuttle packages.
How do I look up my order? Orders
Click "Order Lookup" at the top and enter the phone number or email plus the ID details used for the booking to see the status and the verification code.
Can I get a refund? Refunds & Changes
Unused tickets can be refunded through "Order Lookup" and the amount is returned to the original payment method once approved. Used or expired tickets are non-refundable; the ticket notice sets out the full rules.
How do I get to Jiuzhaigou? Transport
Fly to Jiuzhai Huanglong Airport (about 88 km from the entrance) and continue by shuttle bus or private car; or take the Sichuan-Qinghai high-speed rail to Huanglong Jiuzhaigou Station and transfer. Direct coaches run from Chengdu, and the drive is about 400 km. See the transport guide under Travel Guides for details.
Are there discounts for children, students or seniors? Tickets
Yes. Students, minors and senior visitors receive reduced or free admission under park rules, though the shuttle is usually still charged. Show the original supporting document at the gate, otherwise the full fare applies.
What should I bring to enter? Entry
Bring your original valid ID and the order verification code. There is a lot of walking, so wear light non-slip shoes and carry water and a snack.
What are the opening hours? Other
Opening hours and shuttle times change with the season, generally opening in the morning and closing in the evening. Check the booking page and the park's current notice before you travel.
How do you get around inside the park? Touring
Shuttles run along the main valleys with several stops and you can get on and off freely. Boardwalks are separate from the roads — walk on the boardwalks. Riding to the top and walking down is the easiest pattern and gives the best light.
What should I know about the altitude? Other
The entrance is about 2,000 m and Long Lake about 3,100 m. Avoid strenuous activity and alcohol on arrival and walk at an easy pace. If you have heart disease, high blood pressure or are pregnant, consult your doctor first.
Can I eat inside the park? Other
Food inside is limited and pricey, mostly around Nuorilang. Bring snacks and water. The park is a key forest-fire protection area — no smoking or open flame anywhere.
When is the best time to visit? Other
Autumn (late September to October) has the richest colour and the biggest crowds; winter is quiet with blue ice and icefalls; summer has the most water and the most powerful falls; spring brings new growth and clear water.
How do I confirm the booking after paying? Orders
Once payment goes through the page shows a confirmation, and the details are sent to the phone number or email you gave. If nothing arrives, check the status under "Order Lookup" or contact customer service.
Can I book for several people at once? Tickets
Yes, but each visitor needs their own real name and ID number. Everyone presents their own original document at the gate, and the details must match the booking exactly.
Are peak-season tickets easy to get? Tickets
Peak season, especially July to October, is very tight: daily capacity is about 41,000 visitors and popular dates sell out. Book at least seven to fourteen days ahead, and earlier still around holidays.
If tickets are sold out, is there any way in? Tickets
If tickets are returned after a sell-out, the queue releases them in order to waiting visitors. If nothing opens up, consider moving your date — customer service can point you to quieter days.
Do children need a ticket? Tickets
Children aged six or under, or 1.2 m or under, do not pay admission but still need the shuttle. Above that, a normal ticket applies. Staff check age or height at the gate, so bring a household register if you have one.
Are there discounts for senior visitors? Tickets
Visitors aged sixty to sixty-four pay half price for admission, with the shuttle at full fare. For visitors sixty-five and over, the scope of any reduction follows the park's current notice. Bring your original ID.
How do students buy a discounted ticket? Tickets
Full-time students at undergraduate level or below pay half price for admission. Choose the discounted package when booking and present your original student card at the gate; without it you pay the difference to full fare.
I picked the wrong date — can I change it? Refunds & Changes
Contact customer service within the change and refund window set out in the ticket notice and we will help with a new date or a refund. Once that window closes, changes are normally not possible, so check the date and entry slot carefully before booking.
Can I get in without my ID card? Entry
No. Entry is real-name and the gate requires the original document. Check before you leave that it is in your hand luggage.
How do visitors from overseas, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan enter? Entry
Overseas visitors use their passport, visitors from Hong Kong and Macao their Home Return Permit, and visitors from Taiwan their Mainland Travel Permit. Book and enter with the same document.
Do I need to print a ticket? Entry
No. The park uses document scanning at the gate — present the original and walk through. There is no paper ticket and no exchange desk.
What if the park closes or there is a force majeure event? Refunds & Changes
If severe weather or a temporary park closure stops you entering, contact customer service as soon as you can and we will arrange a refund or a new date.
Can I visit Jiuzhaigou and Huanglong on consecutive days? Touring
Yes, and it is a common plan: Jiuzhaigou on day one, Huanglong on day two. The two are about 120 to 140 km apart, more than two hours by road.
Can I book for just one person? Tickets
Absolutely — there is no restriction on single bookings. Just choose your date, entry slot and ticket type as usual.
Is travel accident insurance compulsory? Other
No, it is optional — about ten yuan per person and worth considering at this altitude. Add it when booking or ask customer service.
