Jiuzhaigou Valley Ticket Booking System · Answers to common questions on tickets, entry, refunds and transport
What are the opening hours? Other
Opening hours and shuttle times change with the season, generally opening in the morning and closing in the evening. Check the booking page and the park's current notice before you travel.
What should I know about the altitude? Other
The entrance is about 2,000 m and Long Lake about 3,100 m. Avoid strenuous activity and alcohol on arrival and walk at an easy pace. If you have heart disease, high blood pressure or are pregnant, consult your doctor first.
Can I eat inside the park? Other
Food inside is limited and pricey, mostly around Nuorilang. Bring snacks and water. The park is a key forest-fire protection area — no smoking or open flame anywhere.
When is the best time to visit? Other
Autumn (late September to October) has the richest colour and the biggest crowds; winter is quiet with blue ice and icefalls; summer has the most water and the most powerful falls; spring brings new growth and clear water.
Is travel accident insurance compulsory? Other
No, it is optional — about ten yuan per person and worth considering at this altitude. Add it when booking or ask customer service.
